Happy Way Bus #2
Yes, Jen & Harry are still boat people! But life sorta happened and we've been away from Solla for another painfully long stretch. It hasn't stopped us from doing remote boat projects, however. What follows is a retrospective on my 2nd chaps project. If you're not into sewing, feel free to skip this one... or just come look at the pics. A real update will be coming soon, I promise.

One full year has passed since my last update, dear readers, but as you all know this one year has been 5 years, or 6 months, depending on the day. For months Harry has been in a mild panic over wanting to check on the boat but not feeling able to pull away from his work projects to do so. Cruising in the Time of COVID
After a tumultuous decision to launch the boat without going back to pick-up Tuxie and drop-off the van, into the Sea of Cortez we went. Off-Season Stories
Exactly five months ago, we left Solla in Guaymas, Mexico and returned to California. We had planned to be back from July to late October. But as they say, all cruisers’ plans are written in sand at low tide, and we’re still weeks away from returning South. We all miss the boat terribly (Tuxie misses the fresh fish) and winter storms are chilling and depressing, but commitments made cannot be broken regardless of the pesky little wildfire* that got in the way. The summer (and fall) was a mixed bag for us both with highlights, lowlights and a whole lot in between.

Single-handed Adventure
Wherein Jen goes on a 5 day solo* trip from Puerto Escondido around Isla Carmen. 50+ miles, 5-25+ winds, one tough day, one chill day, and lots of confidence-building. (*Tux was onboard, but not a very useful first-mate.)

What do you guys do all day?
We just did another 2-week off-the-grid jaunt, between La Paz and Puerto Escondido (south of Loreto), along a rather isolated stretch of Baja. No phones, wifi, grocery stores, and few boats, but several islands and roughly 115 miles of gorgeous coastline. 2 weeks? 14 days?? “What do you guys do all day every day?” Well, let me tell you. 😊
